same is unforuntely true abt the treatment of the political opponents/dissidents/prisoners by the indian state post 1947

charu majumdar was murdered in cold blood in police custody, so was azad(maosit leader)etc., yasin malik has been attacked 6 times after shunning gun, 600 of his frnds hv been murdered, false cases have been drafted against syed geelani and other kashmiri leaders, Ms. Irom sharmila’s voice has been unheeded for 10yrs, social leaders in Nagaland, Manipur, other parts of NE have been persecuted, tortured, humiliated, murdered by state and non state actors. THE CITY OF AIZWAL WAS BOMBED BY THE JET FIGHTERS OF INDIAN AIR FORCE IN MARCH 1966(NOT SURE ABT THE YR). Renegade militants hv been used, (and the practice continues) by the Indian state to deal/torture/murder political dissidents in Punjab and J&k.
